Nellie E. Dixon, 90, of 283 Tannery Heights, Emporium, PA
died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, PA on Wednesday morning. (November 27, 2013)
She was born February 22, 1923 in Big Run, PA a daughter of the late Robert E. and Fannie Knarr Long.
On July 3, 1948 in Falls Creek she married George Dixon, who survives.
Mrs. Dixon enjoyed making crafts, fishing, hunting and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Monday (December 2, 2013) at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris Haas, Pastor of Down County Baptist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Moday from 12 Noon -1:00 PM.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.

Gary W. Cunningham, 57, of 1806 Old W. Creek Rd., Emporium, PA
died at Towner Run Rd., Emporium, PA on Monday (November 25, 2013) morning while hunting bear.
He was born February 29, 1956 in Bradford, PA a son of Richard Cunningham of Smethport and the late Yuvonna VonMort Cunningham.

 Gary was married to Terri Strahl Cunningham of Emporium.
Gary graduated from Smethport High School. He worked at GKN Sinter Metals for many years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Friday (November 29, 2013) at 1:00 PM with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor, Deeper Waters Ministries, officiating.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport, Pennsylvania

Mary M. Oswald Smith, 95, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys formerly of Sycamore St., Emporium and Oveido, FL died at Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys on Sunday (November 24, 2013) morning.
She was born January 21, 1918 in St. Marys a daughter of the late William and Adeline Cannon Minnick.

Mary lived a full and active life. She was one of the original St. Marys girls that came by bus to Emporium to work at Sylvania during WW II. It was there that she met and married her first husband, Joe Oswald, moved to Emporium, raised two daughters Carole and Bernadette "Bernie". She was involved in all their school activities as well as making the dance costumes for the Hal Garvin Dance Studio, where her daughters took lessons. Being talented in many aspects, she was selected to represent Cameron County in a Homemakers of America contest. As a member of St. Mark Catholic Church she also donated a lot of her time doing work for the church such as sewing, counting money, decorating and organizing dinners for priests and church functions. She was a member of the CD of A. She also loved bowling and bowled on ladies and mixed couple teams. Mary was well known as a beautician in Emporium, where she owned and operated a beauty shop for many years. She took many advanced courses and had a thriving business, where she made many  friends.  After retiring, she married Cecil "Bo" Smith and they resided in Oveido, Florida for 18 yrs.

There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Cameron County SPCA, P.O. BOX 132, Emporium, PA 15834 or to the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library, 27 W. 4th St., PO Box 430, Emporium, PA 15834-0430 or your local Alzhemiers Assoc.
