Allen R. "Rocky" Eckert, 80, of 61 Arrowhead Rd., Truman, PA died at his residence on Sunday (December 28, 2014) morning.


 He was born March 17, 1934 in Ridgway, PA a son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Bowers Eckert. On July 7, 1953 in Greenville, SC Rocky married Muriel Mercer, who survives.


 Rocky enjoyed life and time with family and friends.

David M. Croyle, Jr, 62, of 2615 Old West Creek Rd., Emporium, PA died Sunday (December 21, 2014) morning while walking near his home.

 

He was born November 25, 1952 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late David M. and Gloria Morrison Croyle. He was married to Cathy Necci Croyle, of Milton, who survives 

 

Dave was a mountain man at heart, who enjoyed both hunting, fishing and living the simple life. He was a skilled antique collector who enjoyed; restoring, buying and selling antiques. He could spot a treasure a mile away from a yardsale. A 1970 graduate of Williamsport High School, David signed a 1971 Minor League contract with the Chicago Cubs at just 17 years of age.

Albert "Clink" Streich, Jr., 91, of 418 Spring St., Emporium, PA died at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA on Saturday (December 27, 2014) morning.

 

He was born February 21, 1923 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Albert and Margaret Zurflue Streich. On July 5, 1947 in Reynoldsville, PA he married the late Regis Halowell Streich.

 

Mr. Streich served with the US Army, Company B 350th infantry, during WW II. He received a Purple Heart medal and also campaign medal with 2 bronze stars. Clink retired after over 43 years as a truck driver for Sylvania. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, VFW, where he served as a past commander, member of th Moose, Bucktail Rod & Gun Club and the Sinnamahoning Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, viewing the elk and collecting antler sheds. He likes the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philies and most of all spending time with his family.

 Daughter: Jean House and her husband Tom Coldiron, Taneytown, MD

 Son: Gary Streich and his wife Peg, Emporium

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (December 30, 2014) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip W. Sanders, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.

 

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 PM.

 

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Samuel DeMark, 90, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA died at the Manor on Tuesday (December 23, 2014) evening following a lengthy illness. 

 

He was born October 6, 1924 in Austin, PA a son of the late Dominic and Lena Perry DeMark. He married the late Mary Zelenz DeMark. Mr. DeMark graduated from Austin High School. He served with the US Army during WW II as a mechanic stationed mainly in Alberta, Canada. He retired from Motor Coil in Emporium where he worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed all wildlife.

 

Surviving Sister: Arlene DeMark, Portville, NY 

Sister: Marie Anastasia and her husband Ralph, Olean, NY 

Several Nieces and nephews

 

Preceded in Death By Parents: Dominic and Lena Perry DeMark

Wife: Mary Zelenz DeMark who died June 20, 1991

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (December 27, 2014) at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. 

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Saturday, two hours prior to the Service. 

 

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Paul E. Wennin, 86, a former resident of 32 Elk St Coudersport, PA passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Washington Health Center in Washington, PA. He was born January 21, 1928 in Johnsonburg, PA, the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Nestlerode) Wennin who were residents of Sinnemahoning, PA. On September 21, 1981, he married Gilda Elliott who predeceased him on August 23, 2013.


Currently residing in Bentleyville, PA, Paul was a veteran of WW II serving with the U. S. Army infantry in the Pacific Theater of Operation. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation of Japan Medal. For 45 years he was employed as a Lineman for Tri-County Electric in Coudersport, PA. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in Potter County.


He is survived by one son, Kevin Wennin of Perry, OK, two stepchildren, Randy Metz of Bentleyville, PA and Cindy Reed of Means, KY, four grandchildren, Lawrence Chamberlain, Savannah Chamberlain, Randy Metz Jr. and Phillip Metz, one great-grandson, Jake Perla, one brother, Richard Wennin, two sisters, Nancy Kowalski and Mary Wood, as well as several nieces &; nephews.

 

He was predeceased in addition to his wife by one brother, Benjamin Wennin and one sister, Margaret Housler.


Friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State Street in Wellsville, NY. The funeral will be Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Eulalia Cemetery in Coudersport.

Rosalee E. Coppock, 91, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA went home to be with the Lord while at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Tuesday night, December 9, 2014.

 

She was born November 7, 1923 in Baltimore, MD a daughter of the late Horace and Grace Pyle Emerson, Sr. On October 13, 1945 in Baltimore, MD she married the late Rev. John Coppock Mrs. Coppock graduated Allentown Bible Institute in Allentown, PA. Rosalee was involved in ministry with her husband, Rev. John Coppock, for most of her life.

 

Surviving Daughter: Nancy and her husband Rev. Raymond Dean Forsythe, Covington, PA

 Son: Timothy Coppock and his wife Terrie, St. Marys

 Son: John Coppock and his wife Laural, Emporium 

Daughter: Joan Frank and her husband Jeff, Sugar Grove

A Memorial Service will be held at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Sizerville Road, Emporium, PA on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Conklin, Pastor, officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, one hour prior to the Service.

 Burial will be in the Gardner Hill Cemetery, Weedville, PA
