Richard F. Reid, 82, of Markert Rd., Beechwood, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 in his home. Born December 4, 1937 in St. Marys he was the son of the late Frederick and Marian Hemphill Reid.

 

He was formerly married to Anna Marie Brown who died in 1963. On February 5, 1971 in Emporium he married Bonnie M. Marshall who passed away January 20, 1995. A lifelong resident of Cameron County Mr. Reid was a 1955 graduate of Emporium High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporium, was a foster parent for many years and was a longtime volunteer at the Grove House where he helped run Bingo night. 

 

 Mr. Reid is survived by six sons: Frederick (Patricia) Reid of Wilcox, Norman E. (Penny) Reid of Beechwood, Jody (Audra) Reid of Emporium, Jesse A. Reid of St. Marys, Grant (Domingo) Reid of NYC, and Theodore Reid at home; a grandson, Ryan Reid; a brother, John (Linda) Reid of Keating Summit; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his wives, Anna Marie & Bonnie.

 

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

 Burial will be in Markert-Smith Cemetery, Beechwood.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donors choice.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.

William Robert Smith, 80, of 54 Huckleberry Circle, Emporium, PA died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his home under hospice care. He was born February 25, 1936 in Sterling Run, PA the second of three children born to the late Abner and Alma (Peg) Smith. He graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1955. He enlisted in the United States Army ready reserve on July 12, 1955, receiving a good conduct medal, commendations as a sharpshooter rifle (M-1) and marksman (carbine) and given an honorable discharge on 7th of August 1962. He then made his way to Bellflower, California and on August 17, 1963 he married Mary M. Camillone who preceded him in death on February 24, 1993. He then married his wife of 23 years, Delores Austin Smith on January 8, 1994.


In addition to his wife Delores Smith he is survived by one daughter, Christina (Mike) Briggs, Anaheim, CA; one son, Steve M. (Lisa) Smith, Bellflower, CA; two grandchildren Kyle & Mary Michael Briggs. one brother, David (Carol) Smith, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. 


He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Mary M. Camillone (2-24-1993), one sister, Ellen Slocum whom he loved very dearly.

There will be No Visitation.

 A Memorial Service will be held at the Kersey Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witness, 339 Main Street, Kersey, PA on Sunday (December 17, 2017) at 2:00 PM with Mr. Zane Keniston, Elder, officiating. 

Burial will be in the Huntley Cemetery, Driftwood, PA

Dolores Avita Leavitt, 87, of Beechwood Rd., Emporium, PA
died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, PA on Saturday (December 9, 2017) evening following a brief illness.
She was born October 9, 1930 in Emporium, PA a daughter of the late Lee C. and Rachel Hickok Skillman.
On March 3, 1949 in Moore Hill United Methodist Church she married the late Charles Leavitt.
Mrs. Leavitt enjoyed her family, playing the piano and organ. She played piano for the Abundant Life Tabernacle for many years and also for the Moore Hill Homecomings. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Emporium. She worked for Philips for many years and also for Helpmates.

Survived by two sons, Joseph Leavitt and Richard (Linda) Leavitt, Truman; her dog Lucky whom she loved very much; three grandchildren, Mike (Allison) Leavitt, Harrisburg; Carrie (Mark) Palmerchuck, Virginia & David Leavitt, Truman. four great grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Palmerchuck, Aiden & Owen Leavitt.; one brother, Robert Skillman, Gaffney, SC; sister-in-law, Pauline Kelly, Williamsport, PA whom she talked to every day and referred to her as her sister; several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee C. and Rachel Hickok Skillman; and her husband, Charles Leavitt who died Jan 9, 2012, 


There will be No Visitation.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at the Barnett Funeral Home 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Lionel Owen, Pastor, Christian Missionary & Alliance Church, officiating

. Burial will be in the Moore Hill Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Naomi A. "Polly" Schager, 91, of 13419 Route 120, Emporium, PA died at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Monday morning.(December 4, 2017)

 

She was born April 30, 1926 in Johnsonburg, PA a daughter of the late Merle and Mary Zelosko Pollard. On July 13, 1946 in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Port Allegany she married the late Carl J. Schager. Polly attended school in both Johnsonburg and Port Allegany. She retired from Sylvania in 1980 where she worked for many years. She was an avid golfer, bowler and quilter and also enjoyed her card club. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and the Emporium Quilters Club. Polly loved spending time with her family and her family loved spending time with her.

 

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Karen) Schager, Fountain Hills, AZ; Steven Schager, Jackson, TN; Thomas (Lori) Schager, Emporium; four daughters, Kathleen Brookhouser, Emporium; Nancy (Dave) Stewart, Emporium; Mary Goss, Emporium and Karen (Bryan) Stuart, Erie; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren along with numerous, nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo in infancy; sister, Doris McManigle, and a brother, Richard Pollard.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Monday (December 11, 2017) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. 

Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM.

 

 Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA 

Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
