Floyd O. Bardo, 93, of 29 Spruce Lane, Sinnemahoning, PA died at his residence, on Saturday morning (October 20, 2018). He was born November 28, 1924 in Jersey Shore, PA a son of the late Oscar and Alpha Green Bardo. On July 5, 1944 in Lock Haven, PA he married the late Rosemary Caton. Floyd was a staff sergeant with the US Army during World War II. He served overseas in the Mediterranean theater of operations for 10 1/2 months seeing duty in Italy. He was stationed with the Headquarters Company 349th infantry Regimen. He was a squad leader with anti-tank gun crew. Floyd retired, after many years of employment, from Sylvania where he was a tool and die maker. He was a member of Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church.

 

He is survived by daughter, Judy Weaver, Stuart, FL; daughter, Connie (Adam) Waltz, Westport, PA; daughter, Regina (Gary) Baney, Mill Hall, PA; son, Francis (Georgette) Bardo, Driftwood, PA; daughter, Diana (Jim) Ball, Sinnamahoning, PA; his longtime companion, Pauline Housler, Emporium; ten grandchildren and a patriarch of many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Allen Bardo; two sisters, Nancy Kelchner and Helen Dickson,

 

The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Friday (October 26, 2018) from 2-4 PM followed by the service at 4:00 PM with 

Pastor Kenneth Bailey, officiating..

 A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail following the funeral.

Sandra L. Kotula, 71, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Wednesday afternoon (October 10, 2018). She was born October 11, 1946 in Smethport, PA a daughter of the late Eugene Haynes and Virginia Downey Sandy graduated from Cameron County High School and later earned an associate degree in Restaurant and Hospitality management. She was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was very competitive playing computer games online with people from all around the world.

She is survived by a daughter, Trisha L. Steele, St. Marys; one grandson, one great granddaughter; a sister, Jackie Knarr, Akron, OH; several, nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Rinker and Theodore Haynes; and a sister, Roseann Puskar.

At her request there will be No Visitation or Service.

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Margaret E. Kondek, 91, of 423 W. Allegany Ave, Emporium, PA formerly of 583 Rich Valley Road died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Wednesday night. (October 10, 2018) She was born April 16, 1927 in Ridgway, PA a daughter of the late John and Anne Gallagher Quigley. On April 12, 1958 in Berea, OH she married the late Joseph Kondek who died Jan. 1, 2002, Mrs. Kondek graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1945. She retired from the Navy Audit Office in Cleveland Ohio where she worked for over 17 years. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, C. D. of A. and the Rosary Society. She loved and enjoyed talking to many people.

 

 She is survived by a sister, Catherine "Kate" Pohl, Emporium and several Nieces and Nephews.

 

 In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Anne Ronen & Jane Blackford,

 

 Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Friday from 4-7. 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (October 13, 2018) at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Noble, as Celebrant. 

 

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Nancy L. Reed, 76, of 40 West Fifth Street, Emporium, PA died at the Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, PA on Saturday (October 6, 2018) morning following a brief illness. She was born March 18, 1942 in Driftwood, PA a daughter of the late Tom F. Knisely and Florence Moate Mitcheltree. On June 16, 1956 in Castle Garden Church she married the late David Lee Reed, Sr. Nancy retired from GKN where she worked for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Raspatello, Kersey; Daughter, Darlene (Jack) Reed, Emporium; two sons, Norman (Rhonda) Reed, Emporium and David L. Reed, Jr., New Orleans, LA; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a brother, Walter Knisely, Driftwood and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Knisely and two sisters, Bernice Beldin and Joyce Sherry.

At her request there will be No visitation or service.

Jean Marie Burkhouse, 86, of 317 E. Fourth St., Emporium, PA died at Lakeview Senior Care, Smethport, PA on Thursday night. (October 4, 2018) She was born June 27, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Harrison and Pearl Tompkins Toner

 

. On July 20, 1973 in Emporium she married the late Karl Burkhouse. Jean's first husband was the late William John Foley, Sr. Jean was proud of obtaining her GED later in life as well as her drivers license. She retired from Sylvania where she had worked for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a very active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Unit #6222, Emporium, PA. She loved her pet poodles.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Lillian Mae (Tom) Bailey, Beaver Dam, WI; ten grandchildren including her caregiver Renee (Ralph) McKimm, twenty-one great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, William Foley, Jr., a daughter, Bonnie Foley Rees; and a granddaughter, Nakia Ann Foley.

 

The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Monday (Oct. 8, 2018) from 11 AM - 1:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating.

 

 Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Kimberly A. Hallowell, 55, of 406 East Allegany, Emporium, PA passed peacefully at her residence on Wednesday afternoon (October 3, 2018) after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.

 

 She was born February 5, 1963 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of Janice Broker Kowell of Emporium and the late Austin Kowell. On January 2, 1982, in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, she married David "Bucket" Hallowell, who survives. Kim graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1981. She worked at GKN for over 32 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sports and going to Benezette to view the elk. Most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandsons.

 

 In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lacey (Ryan) McFadden and Jenelle (Bill) Lampariello of Lancaster; a son, Shawn Hallowell, Cleveland; three grandchildren Riley Parker, Easton James and Mason Grant; a brother, Daniel Kowell, Alaska; a sister, Jackie Kowell Sams, Emporium. 

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Austin Kowell.

 

 Visitation with tribute video will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Sunday (Oct. 7, 2018) from 4:00 - 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM with Father Matthew Ryan, Rector, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, officiating.

 

 Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
